Water Treatment and Storage Facility
Supply and install the Water treatment and storage facility in the Tanami desert.
Facility Description
The Water Treatment and Distribution Facility at the Tanami Expansion Project 2 (TE 2) is designed to meet the increased operational demands and support the new village at Dead Bullock Soak (DBS) within Newmont Tanami Operations. Supplied with raw water from the Schist Hills borefields pipeline, the facility encompasses storage, processing, and pumping infrastructure to provide fire water, raw water, and potable water throughout DBS. This plant is vital for ensuring a reliable supply of treated water for various applications, essential to both the mining operations and the residential needs of the site.
Works Completed
HTS Constructions successfully constructed and commissioned the Water Treatment and Distribution Facility at DBS. The scope of work included:
- Project Management: Implementing a Quality Management Plan, procuring materials, and coordinating with the Principal for regular verification and progressive approval.
- Site Set-up: Establishing self-sufficient site facilities, including offices, crib rooms, and ablutions, as well as ensuring adequate power, water, and communications.
- Construction: Mobilising plant, labour, and equipment, constructing the MCC kiosk platform, and installing structural elements, mechanical equipment, piping, electrical components, and instrumentation.
- Commissioning: Comprehensive testing and commissioning of all systems, including functional testing, performance verification, and integration with the site’s SCADA system.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring all construction activities met the highest standards, including the supply and installation of equipment identification tags, survey verification, and thorough documentation of all quality records.
The facility now stands as a testament to HTS Constructions' capability to deliver complex industrial infrastructure, supporting the Tanami mine's expansion and operational efficiency
