Facility Description: The Crushing Operations facility at the Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project, located in the remote Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory, Australia, is essential for supporting the construction and ongoing operational needs of Newmont Tanami Operations. This facility includes a mobile crushing and screening plant designed to process waste rock from the Callie Waste Dump into usable aggregate materials for various construction activities. The plant ensures a reliable supply of materials while maintaining high standards of quality control and operational efficiency.
Works Completed: HTS Constructions undertook the following works for the Crushing Operations project:
Project Management:
Developed and implemented a comprehensive project management plan.
Coordinated planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of services.
Crushing and Screening Operations:
Executed the crushing program aligned with the Contractor's schedule, utilizing a mobile crushing circuit.
Crushed waste rock from the Callie Waste Dump using a jaw crusher.
Screened the crushed material to required specifications using a triple deck screen with various screen sizes (26-14mm, 9-14mm, 4-9mm, 7mm all in, and 4mm all in).
Recirculated larger material for further crushing using a cone crusher to achieve the desired size.
Blended and carted final crushed and screened material to end-use stockpiles.
Product Stockpiling, Blending, and Carting:
Managed the stockpiling of screened and crushed products in designated locations.
Conducted testing of individual stockpiles to determine optimal particle distribution for final blending.
Mixed and blended aggregates according to proposed ratios and Contractor Program requirements.
Ensured final compliance with Mix Design and Technical Specifications through comprehensive testing.
Borrow Pit Management:
Conducted site assessments, material winning, quality management, blending, and conditioning of materials from the borrow pit.
Ensured environmental compliance and rehabilitation of disturbed land according to site disturbance permits and legislation.
Maintenance and Quality Assurance:
Performed routine and major maintenance activities for the crushing circuit and mobile equipment.
Implemented preventative and corrective maintenance as per the approved Asset Management Strategy.
Conducted quality control and assurance activities to ensure all produced materials met project specifications.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhered to rigorous safety protocols, including risk assessments, safety management plans, and environmental management plans.
Complied with Newmont’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Standards and Australian Standards.
