Leadership, Collaboration and Community Impact at the HTS Leaders Conference

Earlier this year, HTS Constructions brought its leadership team together for a dedicated development day at The Sanctuary, Tamborine Mountain, a retreat nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The conference gave leaders from across the business the chance to step back from day-to-day project delivery and focus on the bigger picture. Conversations centred on reflecting on the year so far, identifying opportunities for growth, and strengthening the relationships between teams that underpin HTS's integrated way of working.

One of the standout moments of the day was a team-building challenge with a genuinely meaningful outcome. Leaders were split into teams and tasked with building bikes from scratch, testing collaboration and problem-solving under a bit of friendly pressure. But rather than being packed away at the end of the exercise, every bike built on the day was donated to local children in need.

The bikes went to students at Benowa State School, with the school later reaching out to thank HTS for the support, noting how much of a difference a bike can make for a child in need, and the impact it will have in helping them thrive.

It's a fitting reflection of how HTS approaches leadership: not just as a title, but as a responsibility to the people around you, whether that's your team, your clients, or the wider community. Combining strategic planning with a hands-on, collaborative challenge gave the day a practical energy that fits how HTS operates on site every day.
