Facility Description: The Main DBS Switchroom and 2 supporting Switchrooms are an essential component of the Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project, located at Dead Bullock Soak (DBS) within the Newmont Tanami Operations in the Northern Territory of Australia. This facility is designed to support the enhanced electrical infrastructure required for the expanded mining operations. The switchroom installation involves significant structural steelwork, platform construction, and modular building placement, ensuring the provision of reliable electrical distribution to the site.
Works Completed: HTS Constructions carried out the following works for the DBS Switchrooms project:
Project Management:
Developed and implemented a comprehensive project management plan.
Coordinated planning, scheduling, and the lift studies required for the installation.
Steel Installation:
Erected upright steel supports and bracing before the landing of the switchroom.
Grouted base plates after the switchroom was landed.
Modular Switchroom Building Installation:
Offloaded and placed the 3 modular Switchrooms into its final position.
Concrete Works:
Constructed concrete ring beams, foundations, pads for stair landings, platform columns, and gas cylinders.
Stair, Platform, and Handrail Installation:
Assembled and installed platforms and stair modules.
Installed handrails and grating.
Grouted base plates and applied touch-up paint where necessary.
Material Supply:
Supplied all fixings, sundries, and consumables as required.
Provided all rebar and formwork needed for the project.
Quality Assurance:
Approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection and Test Records (ITRs) prior to the commencement of works.
Used Hexagon Smart Completions for QAQC and structural certifications.
Ensured all checklists and certifications were completed and approved before finalising the project.
