About the Role:
Join us as an Electrical Field Engineer, as part of our growing E&I team where you'll play a critical role in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems on a large-scale mining project in the Northern Territory.
If you are a qualified Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of E&I experience in the mining, resource or heavy infrastructure sectors, a knack for solving complex technical issues, and thrive in fast-paced environments, this is your chance to make a real impact!
This is a FIFO role, 2:2 roster with flights available from Brisbane, Perth, Darwin or Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of LV & MV electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
Ensure adherence to Australian engineering designs, standards, and regulatory requirements specific to large-scale mining projects (e.g., AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules).
Participate in the commissioning of E&I systems, including PLC/DCS, SCADA, and other automation systems.
Conduct safety risk assessments (HAZOP, SIL) and adhere to HSE policies.
Implement and manage pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, including functional tests, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage project timelines - Report to the Superintendents on the status of the E&I work package.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years experience in E&I Engineering, preferably in mining, resources, or heavy infrastructure.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or related field.
Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card)
Experience with Australian electrical and instrumentation standards (e.g., AS/NZS 2381 for hazardous areas).
Proficient in PLC/DCS, SCADA, field instruments, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, HART).
RPEQ certification (preferred) and a valid driver’s license.
Current Electrical licence would be advantageous.
